A Superb Double Victory by Qatar’s Saif Shaheen

Qatar’s glorious Saif Saeed Shaheen could achieve a double victory in the IAAF World Cup in Athens on Sunday, the 17th of September 2006. His double victory involved a 5000m event (16/9/2006) as well as the 3000m Steeplechase on 17/9/2006.
Shaheen, who represents Asia in this World Cup, crossed the 3000m steeplechase with a new record of (8:19.09)

DOHA: The Qatar Association of Athletics Federation (QAAF) yesterday honoured Saif Saaeed Shaheen, the double world Steeplechase champion and record holder from Qatar, for his stupendous achievements during the year 2005.
Shaheen, who earlier defended his world 3,000 metres steeplechase title at the World Championship in Helsinki, has remained unbeaten in this event

 
DOHA: Alhamad and Alzini in Athens to Attend the 10th IAAF World Cup

The president of Qatar Athletics Federation, brigadier-general Dahlan Alhamed whose also the first vise-president of the Asian Athletics Association, traveled on Thursday to Athens to attend the 10th IAAF World Cup. Alhamad was accompanied by the Secretary General of Qatar Athletics Federation, Mr. Abdullah Alzini. The 10th IAAF World Cup is   

 
Qatar’s Champions Participate in the 1st IAAF World Road Running Championships

The city of Debrecen in Hungary hosts on the 8th of October 2006 the 1st IAAF World Road Running Championships for a distance of 20 km. It is one of the official championships organized under the supervision of the International Association of Athletics Federations. Qatar’s athletics delegation left Doha heading to the capital city of Hungary, on the 5th of October 2006, to participate in the 1st IAAF World Road Running Championships, Debrecen, Hungary during 8/10/2006.
