DOHA: The organising committee for the Qatar IAAF Super Tour 2006 held its third meeting at Qatar Amateur Athletics Federation (QAAF) meeting hall yesterday.
Brig. Gen. Dahlan Jaman al-Hamad, President of QAAF and who also heads the event’s organising committee held discussions with a group of leading sports journalists on issues regarding the preparations for the athletic meet, and ways to make this event a grand success.
The one-day event will be held on May 12 at Suhaim bin Hamad athletic track of Qatar Sports Club. Many of the top names in the athletics world are expected to gather for the only event that is staged outside Europe.
Meanwhile, the committee has cancelled the 4x100m relay after four of the participating countries withdrew from the event.
