US women win 100 and 200 metres

DOHA: Stephanie Durst and Allyson Felix won gold medals in women’s 100 and 200 metres to lead American domination in the women’s sprint events at the Qatar IAAF World Super Tour yesterday at Doha’s Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.
Durst finished ahead of fellow American Lauryn Williams clocking the time of 11.12 seconds. Lolo Jones took the bronze medal to make an American 1-2-3 finish for the race.
American sprint star Allyson Felix won the 200 metres in 22.77 seconds to win her first gold medal here in Doha. Durst settled for the silver with 22.81 seconds while Fabienne Feraez of Benin, who finished in 23.20 seconds, took the bronze in the event.
