The assigned committee to prepare the bidding file for the World Athletics Indoor Championship 2010 held a meeting at the QAAF headquarters on the 3rd of October 2007. The meeting was attended by:

2. Mr. Khalid Almeer Vice President of QAAF- Member
3. Mr. Abdullah Alzayni Member
4. Mr. Yosuf Ahmed Member
5. Dr. Jabar Al-Kaabi Member- Reporter
6. Mr. Ali Salim Representative of Al-Jazeera Channel

The meeting began with welcoming words by HE Dahlan Al-Hamad to all attending members wishing them the best of luck in their mission. He emphasized on the importance of hard work and professional implementation of the bidding file to host the World Athletics Indoor Championship in 2010. Al-Hamad referred to Turkey as a bidding competitor which shows great interest to host this event and works hard international and regionally to gain this honor of hosting. Meanwhile, the QAAF president expressed his confidence in Qatari experiences and high professionalism that the committee members hold and expected to do very well during bidding time 22+23 November 2007 in Monaco. The focus on Qatari experiences was tackled too by attendees with reference to the 10 years history of organizing the Qatar Athletics Grand Prix, Asian Games and West Asian Games. Al-Hamad encouraged the attendees to expose during Monaco meeting Qatar’s sports facilities especially Aspire. He stated that organizing the World Athletics Indoor Championship would greatly add to Qatar’s aspiration to host the 2016 Olympic Games.

The meeting included the assignment of making a documentary film by Al-Jazeera representative exposing Qatar’s sports landmarks, Aspire Zone, and hotels. After this, QAAF president assigned each member the duties that shall be implemented in Monaco meeting.

Mr. Khalid Almeer on his part explained the accomplished duties during the past weeks. He informed the attending members that the information forms were sent to the International Association of Athletics Federations. Finally, the second meeting by this committee will be held on Tuesday 9/ 10/ 2007 to achieve more progress in the bidding file process before traveling to Monaco for the sake of discussion.
