The
World Half Marathon Championship concluded on
14/10/2007 in the city of Udine in Italy. The
Kenyan team seized the 1st rank (2:58:54), while
Eritrea ranked 2nd (2:59:08) and Ethiopia ranked
3rd (3:01:15) and Tanzania ranked 4th (3:02:19).
Qatar’s team successfully occupied the 5th rank
(3:04:03). According to the IAAF rules, the
final team result is counted in accordance with
the best results by three of the team’s
athletes. The Qatari ranking result was gained
by three athletes:
Rank 14: Ali Sidam: 1:00:39 (a new Qatari record
in the half marathon event. The previous record
was seized by Qatar’s Mubarek Shami in Paris
11/3/2007)
Rank 21: Mohamed Abdah: 1:01:38
Rank 24: Ahmed Hassan: 1:01:46 (According to the
IAAF rules, the final team result is counted in
accordance with the best results by three of the
team’s athletes, 3:04:03 )
Rank 29: Ahmed Jumaa Jaber : 1:02:08
Rank 53: Mustafa Ahmed : 1:03:33
