Extensive Field Tours Conducted by the Asian Indoor Athletics Championship Organizing Committee
 



Various visits to locations, sports facilities, and indoor venues were conducted by the organizing committee of the Asian
Indoor Athletics Championship to be held during 14-16 February 2008 in Aspire Academy. The purpose of these field tours is to ensure the high preparedness level set to welcome the participants. The committee, presided by HE. Dahlan Al-Hamad President of QAAF, visited the allocated venues that will host the event and participants. The visited venues included; Merweb Hotel, Le Park Hotel, and Grand Regency Hotel which will host the participating delegates and the Ramada Hotel allocated to host the VIPs, Presidents and members of Asian Association of Athletics Federation.

The committee examined the allocated halls in the hotels, restaurants, physical fitness gyms, and public relations offices to be operated during the event. The officials of the mentioned hotels summarized to the committee the services to be offered during the championship. Moreover, the visiting committee examined the Ramada Hotel facilities which will host the 63rd meeting by the Asian Athletics Association and Asian referees.

The next venue to be visited by the committee on 6 January 2007 is the Aspire Academy where competitions are will take place. The committee will examine the anti-doping center allocated, media centers, competitions and warm-up venues, in addition to results panels and referees halls, massage and prizes awards lounge, etc.

Finally, the organizing committee presided by HE. Dahlan Al-Hamad, President of QAAF, is going to hold a meeting on 7 February in Qatar Olympic Committee headquarters to discuss further the required elements for commissions, opening and closing ceremonies, work plans, and needs to ensure the best organization in the history of the Asian Athletics Indoor Championship.
