Qatar military athletics team managed
to
seize the title of the 53rd World
Military Cross-Country Championship organized in
Switzerland. The gold medal went to Qatar’s
Ahmed Hassan, the silver medal was seized by
Qatar’s Jamal Salem, while the bronze medal went
also to Qatar’s Eisa Ismael Rashid.
The short cross-country event was also dominated by Qatari athletics team; Thamir Ali Kamal (gold medal), while Felix Kibor won the 3rd rank. By this, Qatari military athletics team managed to keep the title under its dominance for the third time consecutively.
Complete Dominance over Long Cross-Country Competitions
Qatari athletes dominated since the start of the 12 km race where they competed in a harmonious collaboration guaranteeing the cup of this title with 35 points. Morocco won the 2nd ranking order (41 points), while France occupied the 3rd rank (106 points).
Qatari and Arabs Athletes Dominate Short Distance Cross-Country
This time Qatari athletes proved brighter excellence when dominated the short distances cross-country competitions, wining the cup of top ranking order (14 points), and Algeria occupied the 2nd ranking order (21 points), while Morocco came 3rd (30 points). Thamir Ali Kamal won the gold medal and Felix Kibor won the bronze of 3rd ranking order for Qatar. The silver medal, however, was seized by Algeria’s Muftah Fatehi.
Excellence Shield to Qatari Team
By this, Qatari military athletics team wins the excellence shield and manages to keep the title under its dominance for the third time consecutively. This achievement is a result of the efforts spent by Qatari athletics leaders and QAAF President on military athletics scene.
Brigadier General Dahlan Al-Hamad Applauds the Achievement
HE Brigadier Dahlan Al-Hamad appreciated the excellent level and great success achieved by Qatari athletes in this important world championship. He dedicated the success to HH the Emir of Qatar and HH the Heir Apparent of Qatar and thanked them for the wide support and care provided to Qatari sports in general and athletics in particular. He also presented his congratulations to the President of Brigades in Qatar Armed Forces, HE Hamad Al-Atiya for his continuous support that led Qatari military sports to this success.
QAAF President also thanked the athletes and wished them greater future achievements. He emphasized that such success in present leads to further future challenges and requires more commitment and hard work.

Warm congratulations were presented by Major Mohamed Suleiman to President of Brigades in Qatar Armed Forces. He expressed his gratitude to athletics leaders in Qatar and military teams, referring with pleasure to Qatari military athletics team which managed to keep the title under its dominance for the third time consecutively.
