The High Organizing Committee of
Qatar Super Grand Prix-2008 held its first
meeting on Sunday 20th of April, at 7:00 PM, in
the meetings hall at Qatar Olympic Committee.

QAAF
president and president of high organizing
committee, HE Dahlan Al-Hamad, started the
meeting by welcoming the attending heads of
commissions. He thanked them for their exerted
efforts during the past period of preparations
to host the international event of Qatar Super
Grand Prix-2008. QAAF president wished the
attendees the best of luck in managing their
duties, and he emphasized on the importance of
the teamwork principle in order to present the
event as perfectly as possible. HE Al-Hamad
stressed to the members of the high organizing
committee that the successful continuity of
hosting the Qatar Super Grand Prix is absolutely
of great support to Qatar’s dream of hosting the
2016 Olympic Games, Doha-2016.
Mr. Khalid Almir, QAAF vice president and director of Qatar Super Grand-Prix, outlined to the attendees the aspects completed during the past period; such as contracts, correspondences, technical issues, organizational matters, and other administrative procedures to make this event a tremendous success.
On the other hand, Mr. Abdullah Al-Zayni, QAAF secretary general and head of financial and marketing committee, explained the accomplished tasks regarding international correspondences and provision of aspects required by commissions working in the high organizing committee of Qatar Super Grand Prix-2008. Meanwhile, other officials contributed to the discussions on the organizational aspects of this international event.
At the end of the meeting, HE Dahlan Al-Hamad wished all committee members the best of luck and success in organizing this featured international athletics competition. The second meeting is going be held on 4/5/2008 in the meeting hall at Qatar Olympic Committee.
