Doha,
May 9, 2008— The grand event of athletics titled
Qatar Super Grand Prix-2008 will saw world class
athletes claiming for top honours at the Suheim
Bin Hamad Stadium, Qatar Sports club on Friday.
.The first Super Grand Prix of the international
season in Doha will begin with hammer throw
competitions at 17.40 hours followed by Shot Put
men, 100 metre hurdles women, pole vault
women,triple jump men,110 metre hurlde men,
discus throw men, high jump women, 100 metre
men, 1500metre women, 100 metre women, 400 metre
hurdles men, 800 metre men, 3000 metre steeple
chase men,long jump women,javelin throw
men,1500metre men,3000 metre steeplechase
women,200 metre men,400 metre women and 3000
metre men.
The stadium is already decked up to receive the
world's best athletes in this one day meet being
organised by the Qatar Association of Athletic
Federation (QAAF).
The tourney will witness marked increase in
number of participants, where more than 200
world sprinters are likely to vie for fair
competitions.
All QAAF's concerned committees began their
missions to receive world athlete stars in Doha
in preparation for event's kicking off on
Friday.
QAAF has succeeded in changing the shape of the
championship to make Doha as hub of sport at
regional, Arab and international level.
