One
of the featured athletes participating in Qatar
Super Grand Prix-2008 to win medals and achieve
records is the hammer thrower Clarissa Clarette.
She was born in Fermo of Italy on
7/10/1980. Her best record is 71.98m achieved on
5/3/2006 in Italy and achieving the 3rd rank in
the 5th IAAF Championships in Germany where she
threw the hammer to 70.34m. She is Italy's
champion for the years 2002, 2006, 2007).
In an interview with the managing staff of Qatar
Olympic Committee Website, Claretti expressed
much of her aspirations and hopes of success and
achievements. The interview started with a
question regarding the value of Qatar Super
Grand Prix-2008 to her. She confirmed that such
event means a lot to her and she try her best to
prove her excellence and distinction among other
competitors. Claretti emphasized that the event
of hammer throw needs further support in her
country as it is the case with other sport like
football and basketball.
In
response to a question on her fear and
preparedness to compete, Claretti stressed that
she respects all participants and will compete
with a spirit of challenge among all. " I will
try to cross the 70m distance and try not to
press further due to slight pains", added
Clarissa.
Finally, she replied on a question by the
interviewer regarding the sports facilities in
Qatar, Clarissa said:"I didn't have the chance
to see such facilities and I wish to have the
time to do so later on. However, through TV.
channels I could make an idea in this respect "
In the conclusion of the interview, she thanked
the interviewers and fans who show interest in
her athletic performance and wished all the best
