The World Juniors Athletics Championship concluded in Poland on 13/7/2008. The competitions lasted for six days during 8-13 July, where 100 countries participated among them only 34 countries seized medals. Technically, the championship witnessed a new world record in the javelin event for women by Ukraine’s Viera Ribrec registering (63,01m). Also, men events witnessed three world records:

The Australian athlete Jessy Rothol achieved the record of the 10000m walk event for juniors, clocking 44:44:22.
On the other hand, the number of participating Arab countries reached 14; including (Algeria, Sudan, Morocco, Egypt, Tunis, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Syria, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Yemen, Lebanon). The medals achieved by the Arab athletes were two gold medals by Sudan (800m) and Algeria (1500m), one silver medal by Egypt (Javelin), and one bronze medal by Bahrain (Triple Jump, 16.63). finally, below are the results achieved by Qatari junior athletes at the World Juniors Athletics Championship, Poland-2008.
