Doha, November 21, 2008 – HH Heir Apparent and president of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani has honorably approved appointment of new heads of Qatar sport federations for Olympic term ( 2008 – 2012).

The new appointed presidents and their respective posts:
HE Sheikh Saoud Bin Ali Al Thani, as president of Qatar Basketball Federation.

HE Sheikh Abdulrahman Bin Saoud Al Thani, president of Qatar Sports Federation for special need.

HE Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, president of Qatar Fencing Federation.

HE Khalid Bin Ali Al Thani, president of Qatar Cycling Federation.

Mr. Mohammed Yousif Al Mane, president of Qatar Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation.

Dr. Abdullah Yousif Al Mal, president of Qatar Volleyball Association.

Mr. Khalil Ahmed Al Mohannadi, president of Qatar Table-Tennis Association.

Mr. Rashid Ali Al Mansouri, president of Qatar Equestrian Federation.

Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Abdullrab Al Shaabi, president of Qatar Handball Federation.

Mr. Nabeel Ali Bin Ali Al Moslamani, president of Qatar Squash Federation.

Mr. Abdullaziz Bin Khalifa Al Atiyiah, president of Qatar Billiard and Snooker Federation.

Mr. Abdullsalam Abbas Hassan , president of Qatar Bowling Federation.

Mr. Nasser Ghanem Al Kholaifi, president of Qatar Tennis Federation.

These new appointments featured establishment of two separate federations, including Qatar Karate Federation and Qatar Judo Federation, where the two sports are known as Olympic Games
