HE Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, secretary general of Qatar Olympic Committee, approved the new board of QAAF for the period 2008-2012. The QAAF new board of directors consists of the following president and members:

·              Abdullah Ahmed Al-Zaini             President

·              Adel Mohammed Al-Baker            Secretary General

·              Eissa Abdullah Al-Harami            Assistant Secretary General

·              Mohamed Ahmed Suleiman            Member

·              Yaquob Yosuf Zainal                   Member

·              Maryam Al-Esihaq                     Member        

QAAF President Mr. Al-Zaini presided a meeting to introduce the new management and the family of Qatar athletics. He welcomed the attendees and introduced the new members of QAAF board of directors. Mr. Al-Zaini then welcomed and introduced the new secretary general of QAAF and the new board members, who are mainly working in athletics. He emphasized on the importance of the next phase, which requires the maximum collective efforts in order to fulfill the visions of the sports leaders in Qatar and gain remarkable achievements in athletics. The members of the newly formed board of directors exchanged ideas and shed lights on the best ways to develop athletics during the next phase, where Qatari teams will participate in many coming continental and international events. It is worth notice that Mr. Al-Zaini was the former secretary general of QAAF for more than five years before and he remained a member of the board of directors in QAAF for more than ten years.
