QAAF
president Mr. Abdullah Al-Zaini dedicated the
new Qatari golden victory IN cross-country to
H.H. the Emir and H.H the Heir Apparent, the
president of Qatar Olympic Committee. This new
achievement was seized by Qatari athletes in the
10th Asian Cross-Country Championship which was
held in Bahrain on 1/3/2009. Qatar dominated
this continental championship, in both: teams
and individual events. The championship
witnessed the attendance of various sports
leaders including H.E. Sheikh Eisa Bin Rashid
Al-Khalifa, president of Bahrain Olympic
Committee. The number of participating
competitors reached 168 athletes who represented
the following 19 Asian countries:

In the teams event, Qatar athletics team managed to dominate the 1st rank, while Bahrain was ranked 2nd and India was ranked 3rd.
The Qatari delegation was presided by Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Suleiman, QAAF board member and supervisor of Qatari teams in middle and long distances events. The delegation also included Mr. Salih Daham Alrumaihi (administrator), and Mr. Max Milian (coach).
