  AL-ZAINI PRESIDES THE FIRST MEETING OF QAAF BOARD OF DIRECTORS

QAAF board of directors held its 1st meeting on 23 March  2009, at 7:00 PM in the QAAF headquarters. The meeting was presided by QAAF president HE Abdullah Al-Zaini, and the following members attended the meeting:

QAAF president welcomed the members of the newly formed board of directors who will face various challenges and big events like organizing the IAAF World Indoor Championship-Doha 2010 and the current world financial crisis. HE Al-Zaini emphasized on the necessity of hard work and close coordination and coordination among board members and QAAF to prove that they are up to the challenge.

QAAF president then reviewed the agenda items and discussed the item of naming the QAAF permanent committees. These committees are:

 

·        Teams Committee      

·        Technical Affairs Committee

·        Athletes and Clubs Affairs Committee

·        Financial and Marketing Committee

·        Public Relations and Media Official

The attendees later discussed the complaint submitted by Al-Sadd Club regarding the registration of the athlete Lobus Banko in Al-Rayan Club and his participations in the high and triple jump events during the QAAF Cup, senior category.  The attendees decided after thorough discussions to eliminate the results of this athlete, re-arrange the results of the mentioned tournament, and eliminate the name of this athlete from QAAF files.

At the end of the meeting, QAAF president wished the attendees all the best of luck and success, and requested them to spend all their efforts in order to further promote and develop the Qatari athletics scene.
