The president of Qatar Athletics Federation, brigadier-general Dahlan Alhamed whose also the first vise-president of the Asian Athletics Association, traveled on Thursday to Athens to attend the 10th IAAF World Cup. Alhamad was accompanied by the Secretary General of Qatar Athletics Federation, Mr. Abdullah Alzini. The 10th IAAF World Cup is going to be held during 16-17 September 2006. Qatar’s featured champion Saif Saeed Shaheen will participate in the 3000m and 5000m steeplechase. Also, Qatar’s promising athlete Abdulrahman Sulaiman will participate in the 1500m event. Both of these Qatari athletes were chosen by the Asian Athletics Federation to represent the Asian continent in this world’s biggest athletics event which brings together all the shining stars of athletics from all over the world.
