  Athletics Operational Commissions Start Preparations to Asian Games by Moving to Tracks of
Khalifa Stadium and Doha Bay

 The operational commissions of Qatar Athletics Federation continue their preparations to participate in the biggest multi-sports event in Doha next December, the 15th Asian Games. These commissions were formed by the Qatar Athletics Federation exclusively for participations in this important event to be held in Doha, the city of hospitality.

Starting from 1/11/2006, the heads of these commissions and their assistants are going to operate the Athletics preparations in Khalifa stadium in which the major competitions are to be held. Also, by moving to the Doha Bay where marathon and walk races are to be organized. Such procedures have been done to get prepared technically and professionally to start the athletics competitions.

The Qatar Athletics Federation has formed already theses specialized commissions. They involve: Mr. Khalid Almeer, vice president of board of directors, as the general director. Three operations directors were also appointed. They are: Dr. Jabar Alka’abi, Mr. Ahmed Altanai and Mr. Yaqoub Yusof Abdullah. On the other hand, the QAF appointed Mr. Abdullah Ahmed Alzayni as the director of services, with 28 accompanying staff members. The position of the technical operations director is occupied by Mr. khalifa Yusof Abdulmalik, with 176 accompanying staff members. Mr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Alrumayhi is appointed as results director, with 25 accompanying staff members. Moreover, Mr. Abdulhakim Mohamed Alomari is appointed as head of referees committee which includes 156 specialized referees.

Qatar Athletics federation has utilized all the technical potentials and human recourses and saved no efforts to perform successfully in the 15th Asian Games due to its high importance to bring altogether the best Asian champions.

It worth mentioning that Qatar Athletics Federation succeeded, in May 2006, to polarize some of the elite athletes to Doha in the Qatar Athletics Super Grand Prix, one of the major competitions approved by the International Association of Athletics Federation. Such organization of a popular event promised a new possible success in the 15th Asian Games during December 2006.

Finally, the previous months witnessed several meetings between the QAF’s commissions and the athletics commissions of the 15th Asian Games Organizing Committee.
