The operational commissions
of
Qatar Athletics Federation
continue their preparations
to participate in the
biggest multi-sports event
in Doha next December, the
15th Asian Games. These
commissions were formed by
the Qatar Athletics
Federation exclusively for
participations in this
important event to be held
in Doha, the city of
hospitality.
Starting from 1/11/2006, the
heads of these commissions
and their assistants are
going to operate the
Athletics preparations in
Khalifa stadium in which the
major competitions are to be
held. Also, by moving to the
Doha Bay where marathon and
walk races are to be
organized. Such procedures
have been done to get
prepared technically and
professionally to start the
athletics competitions.
The Qatar Athletics
Federation has formed
already theses specialized
commissions. They involve:
Mr. Khalid Almeer, vice
president of board of
directors, as the general
director. Three operations
directors were also
appointed. They are: Dr.
Jabar Alka’abi, Mr. Ahmed
Altanai and Mr. Yaqoub Yusof
Abdullah. On the other hand,
the QAF appointed Mr.
Abdullah Ahmed Alzayni as
the director of services,
with 28 accompanying staff
members. The position of the
technical operations
director is occupied by Mr.
khalifa Yusof Abdulmalik,
with 176 accompanying staff
members. Mr. Ahmed Abdul
Rahman Alrumayhi is
appointed as results
director, with 25
accompanying staff members.
Moreover, Mr. Abdulhakim
Mohamed Alomari is appointed
as head of referees
committee which includes
156
specialized referees.
Qatar Athletics federation
has utilized all the
technical potentials and
human recourses and saved no
efforts to perform
successfully in the 15th
Asian Games due to its high
importance to bring
altogether the best Asian
champions.
It worth mentioning that
Qatar Athletics Federation
succeeded, in May 2006, to
polarize some of the elite
athletes to Doha in the
Qatar Athletics Super Grand
Prix, one of the major
competitions approved by the
International Association of
Athletics Federation. Such
organization of a popular
event promised a new
possible success in the 15th
Asian Games during December
2006.
Finally, the previous months
witnessed several meetings
between the QAF’s
commissions and the
athletics commissions of the
15th Asian Games Organizing
Committee.
