Mr. Dahlan Alhamad, the
President of Qatar Athletics
Federation, has received an
appreciation letter from the
International Association of
Athletics
Federation
due to the success of Qatar,
the active member of IAAF,
in being one of the 19
countries that participated
in all the competitions and
meetings organized under the
supervision of the
International Association of
Athletics Federation during
2006.
This new international
recommendation letter
expresses the scope of
Qatar’s development in
athletics and the
competitive level it reached
as well as the high
performance capabilities.
Moreover, this step explains
much of Qatar’s efforts to
provide the Qatari athletes
with valuable participation
opportunities to compete
with the international
athletics champions during
all the international
events.
The letter was received by
Mr. Dahlan Alhamed during
his attendance of the IAAF’s
board meetings in Monaco,
13-14/11/2006. Qatar is
referred to in this letter
as one of the active 19
countries which participated
in all the championships and
competitions organized under
the supervision of the
International Association of
Athletics Federation during
2006. The list of the 19
countries, in addition to
Qatar, included:
Byelorussia, Brazil,
Dominican Republic,
Ethiopia, France, United
Kingdom, Germany, Ireland,
Italy, Japan, Mexico,
Netherlands, Poland,
Romania, Russia, South
Africa, Spain, and the
United States of America.
