DOHA -
Lauryn Williams of USA is another female athlete
to watch on Friday's Grand prix meet at Suhaim
Bin Hamad Stadium. She is likely to bring
surprises in 100 metres.Claiming that she would be peaking by Osaka World Athletics meet in August, Williams said she hopes to put up great performance before Qatar fans on Friday. Now ranked seventh as per IAAF latest rankings, William will be a serious bet for a gold medal in 100 metres with another tough Allyson Felix in contention.
It may be recalled that Williams the winner of silver medal in Athens 2004 Olympics was down for nearly one year in 2006 due to injury. However she had the distinction in 2005 when she won the gold medal in 100 metre and also in 4x100metre relay.
