The
QAAF’s board of directors held its last meeting
in the current sports season. The meeting was
headed by H.E. the President of QAAF, Brigadier
General Dahlan Al-Hamad. The meeting started with ratifying the previous meeting’s minutes. Various indispensable issues were discussed during this meeting, including the International Association of Athletics Federations’ letter with regard to the possibility of nominating the State of Qatar to host the World Athletics Championship, scheduled to be organized during 2013. It is worth notice that the International Association of Athletics Federations has already assigned the organization of the World Indoor Championships to Qatar Athletics Federation in 2010.
Moreover, the annual report by the technical committee for the sports season 2006-2007 was discussed during this meeting. The meeting’s attendants decided to contact Aspire (Sports Excellence Academy) concerning the organization of the local and international championships in the indoor halls of the academy.
Finally, the meeting covered in details the amendments that were implemented on championships, and discussed the athletes’ affairs regulations which shall be distributed to all the national teams. The meeting’s attendants approved the competitions calendar of sports season 2006-2007.
