star Daham Najim Bashir prepares to participate
in the coming Exxon Mobil Bislett Games, to be
organized in Oslo (NORway) on 15 June 2007.
Bashir, the winner of the gold medal in the 15th
Asian games, will participate in the 1500m event
in competition against elite athletes in this
discipline, like: Kenya’s Alex Kibshirshr (gold
medal winner in previous world championship) and
Augustine Koch (winner in 1500m event in Doha
Super grand-Prix, 3:31:73), and Daniel
Kibshirshr (3rd in previous year version and
holder of best record in Rome 3:29:02). Bashir, the holder of the Asian record in the 1500m discipline, also encounters a challenge by Kenya’s Isaac Sonjoch, Australia’s Craig Motram (recorded 3:48:98 in the 2005 version), and Suleiman Simoto (runner-up during this year in Doha 3:31:98).
It is worth notice that the event of Exxon Mobil Bislett Games, Oslo (NOR) would be the first stage among six stages to be hosted by Paris, Rome, Zurich, Brussels, and Berlin during this year. The wining prize of all these six stages reaches one million USD, while the winner of 5 stages will be rewarded 500,000 USD.
