Qatar’s
Gerbil Rahmat Khan seized the 10th rank in the
10000 walk race of Ostrava event for youth
(44:59:57). This marked a new Qatari and Arab
result. The 1st rank was dominated by Russia’s
Stansilaf Imielyanov (41:49:91), the 2nd rank by
Mexico’s Pedro Daniel (43:11:87), while the 3rd
rank and bronze medal was claimed by Italy’s
Vito De Bari (43:11:87). This event witnessed
the participation of 33 competitors who
represented 24 countries.
Salman Almane of Qatar proved his presence but could manage to get a medal and ranked 10th in the high jump final events (2.08m). Also, Qatar’s Abu Baker Alhaj participated effectively in the 800m race (1:19:52). Sixty four competitors participated in this event representing 46 countries.
The relay team of Qatar athletics left the competitions early where the American athletes dominated the 1st rank (1:51:94) and the Japanese ranked 2nd (1:52:27). The competitions level appeared so high where 113 athletes participated representing 21 countries. Qatar’s relay team included Mohamed Zayat (100m), Mohamed Eid (200m), Mohamed Ahmed Almane (300m), and Hassan Aman (400m).
