OSAKA, Japan, September 3, 2007 – The 11th World
Athletics Championship held at Ngai
Stadium
with participation of more than three thousands
athletes from 203 concluded Sunday, September 2,
2007.
The championship witnessed a significant Qatari
participation, with Dahlan Al Hamad being
elected as Vice president of International
Association of Athletic Federation (IAAF).
Qatar athlete Mubarak Shami won silver in
marathon with time of 2.17.18 few seconds away
from the winner.
The qualification of 17 Qatari athletes in the
championship is an evidence of the efforts
endured by Qatar Association of Athletics
Federation (QAAF).
